I love Stephen Fry but these ghost stories are pretty weak.

Only updating to share the fact that in this book written in the 1930s, AC describes someone speeding past in a car at 18 mph. I chuckled. Times have changed

I'm super invested now but cannot wait to be done with this series! If the ending of this book does not slap, I'm going to be very disappointed.

Ok, I'm pulling the plug on this one. Rarely do I give up on an audiobook (even if I'm not particularly feeling it), but this is definitely give up worthy. I was drawn in by the fact that it's narrated by Nick Offerman and David Sedaris but even they couldn't save it. Not a good writing style for audiobook.

The first third of the book: ok, this is pretty tame for a horror novel but I'm not surprised since I recall that was the case with the movie as well

The second third of the book: dear Lord, Jesus Christ, yikes

It's ramping up to some very serious gnarliness

Love the names in this book. Rooster Cogburn obviously, but the cat's name is General Sterling Price (or the General) and I think that's just fantastic.

Dang, this chick is a real piece of work!

Really enjoying this story apart from all of the animal murdering ☹️
