“..That very day should leave some part free for a
Sabbath of the heart.” - Hawkes

“I wait on the shore of the mystery to see what the tide will bring.” - Hawkes

Omg John and the three legged pig!

John sure does like an abundance of Katherines!

“I like you a medium amount - a socially acceptable amount.” “Great! See you tomorrow!” - lol I don’t know why this got me, but it did!

Ariel Lawhon is marvelous. I don’t care one bit about pirates or the sea but she’s got me hooked 🌊

Should I start reading the back copy? What in the world is this book?

This girl never heard of the many worlds theory?!

I just randomly pick books from my Libby shelf without reading the copy - another time travel book!

Making me think of “why did you drop out of YA-LE?!” - Jess Mariano

Books due back at the library and I’m not loving. Worth finishing?

I’m surprised this audio has such poor sound quality. Is the breathing because it’s read by the author and not a narrator? It’s distracting.

I love Ruta, but this is not it for me…

“It isn’t that I wish to step away from the day to day realities of a life. I like the realities! Floors must be swept. Tea consumed and windows washed. Walks to be taken…it isn’t those things of which I wish to run away. Nor is it being a woman. I like being a woman!”

Eww. Honey. 🙄🌶️

I hate a miscommunication trope

“Mom professes her love with sugar, butter, and eggs.”

One thing about care takers- we are never care free. Without our cares, we’d just be takers like everyone else…

“There’s no quicker way to wrap someone in love than by creaming sugar and butter…”

Every minute of this day has crawled up hill.

Mrs. Trilby with the shortbread in church

“Who the hell is Hawkes?!”

“ maybe I’m coming down with something, like a cold, or an allergy to people in general..”

MUST listen to the December chapters during the Christmas season.

“Don’t call me baby “. Thank you! How hard is that?!

A grin is only a smile that’s fully decided to get on with it 😄

Agnes and I share a birthday! Huzzah!🎉

“I think I like the autumn best…”

“My feelings for Octobers are fierce.”

This audiobook is read super slowly. Definitely needs 2.10x at least!
