Morolake is finished with The Spider King's Daughter
This started off well but then the twists and turns seemed a bit too coincidental and cliche. Alot of extra details could have been shaved off to have a better read.

Overall, if you want to learn more about the city of Lagos, Nigeria this could give you insights into the rich-poor aesthetic.

I do understand that writing a paragraph is not the easiest thing, talkless of writing a book, so well done.

Morolake is finished with How to be a Nigerian (Working Paper Series, 1/1990)
Funny read and still relatable even though it was written decades ago. Recommend it to every Nigerian and every one interested in visiting Nigeria.

Morolake is finished with The House of the Mosque
Well-written! Hoping that some meanings and phrases weren't lost in translation.

This story gives a view of the Iranian revolution, the battle between modernity and religion, the divide between spirituality and fanaticism, all through the lens of a family that evolves as political and religious events unveil.

Morolake is starting What the Dog Saw and Other Adventures
This book started slow for me but If you ever need to read something to demystify preconceived notions about stereotypes, controversies, and canine behavior. This is a good read. I wish there was a summary or conclusion at the book that yelled ‘you just never know with life it’s a combination of many things that may not be proven, just live’. Lol

Morolake is starting A Broken People's Playlist
I read this book in a couple of hours and I have the book hangover chills I get after reading a good book. Short stories but expanded characters that I could almost reach out to feel their emotions. It’s mostly focused on men and issues that plague them but people refuse to discuss - sexual abuse, high expectations, infidelity etc. And the music theme is quite impressive. The story ‘in the city’ may haunt you.

Morolake is finished with Ghana Must Go
This was such a beautiful read!

I struggled at first with all the added descriptions and poetic additions, but the plot, the characters, the journey from Lagos to Nigeria, New York and Ghana is so real, I felt like I was sitting there with them.
I couldn't put the book down and it's one of the books, I will never forget.
I would have chosen another title though, but amazing read!

Morolake is finished with I Am Malala: The Story of the Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban
Heartfelt and written from the perspective of an innocent girl who had to deal with the Taliban.

Really gave me another view of the tumultuous cities of the Middle East.

One word I took out from this book, Gratitude.

There is always something to be "grateful" for and God is always in a good moood.
