I feel quite ashamed, that this is the first Gujarati book I'm reading, and in parallel, I'm delighted in the joy it brings. I used to scoff it off, but the depth in writing does hit harder in one's mother-tongue. The book is a window in a time machine, taking me back decades, opening up the diversity and wisdom of the country. Time is flying too fast and my rate of reading too slow at the moment.

Liking the book a lot more now that I'm reading differently, taking notes, travelling a bit with her as she goes on her journey, a bit more of imagination and trying to experience her experiences and emotional ups and downs along the way.

Reading deeply, as opposed to reading, makes tremendous difference. Who I am changes what the book is.

Interesting and building up curiousity levels! I'm finding it all the more interesting since this book has been recommended to me by one of the students of grade 7, and I'm just waiting to discuss it with her!

re-re-re-re-reading this..one of my favourite reads. Nothing better to remove the rust from the habit of reading and start spending some time with books again. :)
