So far interesting, but not convinced of the book’s main contention- that John Dean was the instigator of the Watergate break in, due to concern his wife was friendly with a madam that arranged clients out of the DNC.
Other main points:
1-Haig was a leaker. True, but not Deep Throat.
2-Haig helped orchestrate Nixon’s resignation to cover his own role regarding the Joint Chiefs spying on the NSC. Too far-fetched.

Written in an unusual format, and divided into three parts, I’m amazed at how much I actually like James McCord and have to consider him as much a victim as a villain in the Watergate affair.
I’m reading this while concurrently starting to watch the 1973 Senate Watergate Hearings from gavel to gavel.
I’m on day 2 (of 51!) which is McCord’s first day of testimony, so I’m going slow with both.
