Another Dancing Tuatara Special Edition with a bookplate signed by editor John Pelan. I've been reading a bunch of these pulp horror 'weird menace' collections, and so far Blassingame is the best. This is the second volume of his stories from Ramble House and DTP.

I really can't read this with people around. I'm heaving; there are tears in my eyes...

I had to put it down, I'm in public - sitting outside a cafe on Main Street, enjoying the morning - and I can't stop laughing. This is too much.

Unintentionally, this is just about the funniest thing I've ever read. I have tears in my eyes.

This book is kind of hard to find. A Day Keene 'double' from Lancer. A 1962 reprint of two novels from the mid-fifties. I wish the cover was in the database - it's lurid.

I found this in a Little Free Library behind my parents house across the street from the elementary school that I went to thirty years ago, which they just remodeled; it looks very nice.

A Shannara tale. I've only ever read "Sword of" and that was pre-junior high. In high school I read his "Running With the Demon" series, which had just come out. It's been a long time.

Insomnia. Back and forth between fantasy tales, Lovecraftian stories, and Kurt Vonnegut.

The Brian Herbert story - set in the "Dune" universe - was really well done, but all the politically incited violence reminds me too much of the evening news, which I cannot abide for medical reasons...

O no. I just picked this up to continue reading, and I last stopped right in the middle of a story. I hate it when I do that. I read so much that the chance that I have retained all the relevant details is slim. I'll have to start over or skip it.

A great first couple stories, but I'm finding a lot of filler afterwards...
