If I had a nickel for every book I’ve read recently where the FMC is 30ish years old and a sharp tongued business woman with a man frim her past haunting her I’d have 2 nickels….

I was promised medieval Mr and Mrs Smith realness so I better get it after I powered through the last third of Book 1

i’m sorry i simply don’t care about leonie at all

maybe I’m the problem but I wish they were a littleeeee evil

upon further reflection, I need Kier to start showing personality because this dynamic is starting to feel like when your smart gorgeous friend is super hung up on just some guy

this is not idiots in love this is somehow worse (but i am eating it up)

they are so “i want to live in your skin” final boss and i love it

this is going to be an experiment “can i read a 400+ page book where the woman will be yearning after the man the whole time without hating him”

“Even brimming with poison, on the brink of consciousness, I knew the shape of him.”

“for days and days i’ve had to watch the wind tangle your hair and the sea flush your cheeks and feel envy that it’s not me”

“You remember don’t you? how greed riddled I am when it comes to you. more than him is still not enough”

yes for moody theo, but why is imogen literally brainless rn

“however much he needed was just as much as she was willing to give” oh this is going to hurt isn’t it

This Talon progression makes no sense

author said fuck it let’s throw pirates into the mix too never let them know your next move

I’m starting to need to be won back here

welcome back draco malfoy

I need a cigarette so bad (enemies who actually hate each other)

no plot just vibes

Let me guess they kill the kraken with the power of friendship at the end

“You are a spirit I cannot banish. A ghost that wails the word mine as you haunt me”

you can’t outdo the doer (heir of fire)

hoping for this to miraculously turn out to be a “why choose” but I have a feeling Fell will die self-sacrificially at some point (maybe book 2) and it will be a Valerian endgame

the way i’m already interally screaming about having to wait for a second book

I fear I may be rooting for the wrong mmc for now

have a feeling these tempest eyes are gonna be the real main character

wow what a totally unpredictable and shocking development… *eyeroll

i wonder who could possibly have this god power…. could it be our special snowflake fmc who has a rare type of power that the 700 year old mmc isn’t sure about???

armor that “emphasizes curves” but somehow the whole kingdom has been fooled into thinking the crimson dagger is a man… give me a breakkk

the way he pays so close attention to her…
