Though the author for this one clearly doesn’t know pinoy people talk, I’ll give him props for the unexpected ending because I thought things were going to go bad for Scully in a very cliche and mildly degrading way.

I am so entertained by how vintage history books have zero capability in hiding personal biases/opinions that are completely unrelated to the topic being discussed.

The writing style of the translation is still wonky as hell, but the phrasing in dialogue feels improved particularly for Holo. Now she uses less contractions and some antiquated patterns she didn’t use in volume one, but that she does use all throughout the dubbed anime and in all the original Japanese media.
All this reaffirms that I’m not going crazy, the story is good the translators just has zero lit rizz.

Starting off slow and feeling weirdly British (or, more specifically I keep reading it in a British voice). Some of the few burns that are in here so far are really burning though.
