I am so entertained by how vintage history books have zero capability in hiding personal biases/opinions that are completely unrelated to the topic being discussed.

If you collect old books, you collect wild claims like: “Maranon suggests he suffered from sexual impotence, a misfortune that frequently affects left-handed people who are very tall.”

The problem with old books is that they can’t even pretend to hide their bias 😶‍🌫️
