I already know I'm going to love this book. On the first page of the first chapter, "People who deny the existence of dragons are often eaten by dragons. From within."

I just read the chapter about the taxidermy raccoon(s) and Jenny's sleep disorders and I swear I laughed till I cried at least three times. This is so great.

Goddammit this is so good!! I think I might be enjoying it more than the show. Perfect thing to listen to on audiobook while slowly coming down with what I hope isn't the flu...

The domestic violence scenes in this book are seriously the most terrifying ones. Not the ones with Pennywise.

This is sooo good. I thought it'd read a lot differently from The Stand since it's horror, but it really doesn't, and I really enjoyed that one. Looking forward to where this goes... morbidly.

Oh my god(s) I LOVE this. He is SUCH a good storyteller.

Super excited for this! Loved Neuromancer. The language and visuals he uses are so immersive and imaginative. <3

Especially enjoyed his speech/essay on why he loves myth, and how that inspired both Sandman and American Gods. It helped me start to understand why they're my two favorite works by him.

Just listening to him speak inspires me to write... <3

Really struck by Stephenson's depiction of PTSD. Without warning, the protagonist is back in the same battle that scarred him, reliving it, with no clear break in narration to indicate he's dreaming. Makes it seem really realistic.

This is so great... all I want is to keep reading. Love it when books do that. All the geeky sci-fi/fantasy references are awesome!

Haven't been prioritizing reading lately, but so far I'm enjoying this. All the suspense and twists make me want to know, how will they do it?! What's their plan?

Rough estimate of where I am, I've just started #4. Haven't listened to it for a while, and have kind of lost interest... things are a bit too slow.

This is getting so good. The beginning was amazing, it was a bit slow for a while, and now things are really picking up again with a twist I wasn't really expecting. Very much enjoying this book!

I am enjoying the descriptions of what it's like to hike on the PCT. Still not connecting with her choices, especially when men are involved, but the writing is generally enjoyable. The one thing I connect with her the most about is her need to be alone, which is a relief at times. Seems like she's getting stronger emotionally, if slowly.

Continuing still, at this point just morbidly curious what awful situation she'll get into next, and also just interested in what hiking for three months straight is like. Hopefully I won't get sick of it before it ends.

I'm having a hard time connecting with her reaction to losing her mother. Maybe because I haven't lost my own mother yet? But it seems a bit childish that it's affecting her whole life, like she hasn't let go of her mother and become her own person yet. Also a bit selfish that she can't understand how the people around her are behaving the way they are. I'll keep reading though, maybe it'll make more sense later on.
