This book is actually pissing me off. I'm pretty sure that's the point, but I can already tell its going to end with 9/11 being a plot point. I can literally smell it.

I’m so grateful that this book exists because since learning of my friend Asad’s passing, I’ve been re-reading his essays and am now grateful to come across this book and finally get around to it. It’s been exceptionally challenging and I can’t get through a page without crying, but Asad always inspired me and he continues to do so even when in another realm. Allahunaxaristo walaal ❤️

I love this book so much — praying for a good ending

Addiction is an important issue that is not discussed enough in religious spaces as it is seen as a marker of “poor faith.” I’m so glad for the perspective this book brings about how grief and trauma exacerbate so much of what people go through and how addiction does not make you an inherently bad person but it does hurt those around you if not acknowledged.

Still very confused home girl is in psychosis ?!?
