Ok, I'm done. This is a poorly written book. Some random person walks in and since she is new, she shouldn't know who the person is but she knows exactly who it is.. just plain dumb.

She's talked to a person maybe 3-4 times, she's been dumb each and every time and suddenly he wants to kiss her... ugh how am I going to get through this book. I need a better writer.

Why are good authors so hard to find. And do some make their leading person so unlikeable. This woman hasn't even fed her own horses and she's going to go drive in a place she doesn't know, to a place she doesn't know and check on a horse she has never met. Stupid. Let's hope the book gets better bc rn its crap.

How many times we do have to read "I'm a nurse", a real nurse doesn't tell herself or others this multiple times. Over and over again.

On page 8 and there is already a typo... let's hope the book gets better.

Since I'm listening to the audiobook and not going by % or page numbers, not sure how far I am in the book. But this one has been the most frustrating. I just want to scream at Vesper... how stupid does she have to be to not realize all she has to do is clear her mind. Don't think about what you are doing, don't think... oh I need to calm down when she is near the precog... I want to slap them both.

Sometimes Mia bugs me. I mean I knew immediately who the killer was when the person on stage scream. How can she not get that the ghost wanted her to check out the Jack and Jill bathroom that Mia pointed out to herself. Moron.

This series is getting annoying. The Eggs are annoying. They are in high school, why can't their mother ever tell them no or maybe just talk to them so they aren't so annoying. My biggest pet peeve is a child that doesn't care that their parent is talking and interrupts them over and over. Dislike these kids A LOT.

I haven’t finished the book, but when the spirit says vile, when asking who murdered them and the murder suspect is named violet, why isn’t the main character thinking that instead of something vile happened… yes stupid ppl or lazy writing really annoys me.

Sadly, you can tell the author isn’t from Louisiana. Or really has no idea what people who don’t drive actually need for identification. If the main character ever wanted an alcoholic drink, she wouldn’t take her passport to the bar. Also, if she ever had to have an appointment in the real world that needed identification… the dmv has IDs for just that, no driving needed.

This author is not from the US... every time someone says university... no one in the US uses that and def no one for Louisiana is using it. Take it from someone in La... also peevish... really, that's not a word used in the South as well.

Wow… read 2 more pages and more Bs.. I’m just going to hit pass… pass… pass… until I can get back the most boring couple ever… “how could I ask you to weld it?” Ummm… if you even cared, when you were no longer in the military (you sign up for like 4,6,8 years) he could have come home, but no he signed up to work as something else.. pirates? Whatever… snooze they are boring

Why is Morgan so weak?? I’m sorry if I had an ex that left me 10 years ago that randomly popped up, I wouldn’t be giving him mean looks… and nicely talking to him. Why are these girls acting so weak. At these in the first book, Fiona had a backbone… Morgan’s weak. I would have already told him to get the f out of my life. Learn to cuss… I might read the next book

Ummm... how is this so close to my job life. Here, law firms want paralegals as legal assistants. While the firm doesn't bill for our hours, we make less than we would, if we billed. At our firm we have at least 3 of us that are paralegals and train but are working as assistants. There is less stress being an assistant, which is why I do that instead of pushing to be a paralegal.

OMG... ugh so FYI inc. in a company means your incorporated it. Which is why it has Inc., if you file for an LLC (limited liability company) then it would be Breadcrumbs, LLC... hopefully this doesn't come up again bc I will be annoyed.

I'm with Ruthie, I really like this series bc this is exactly how I am but Defiance isn't really defiant... she just disagrees with everything, ignores everything and then wonders why she is having to hurry. She acts like a child. While I do too (36), I know when you need to act less like a 12 yo and more like your age. (or an adult you don't even have to act your actual age)

Who else wants to slap Defiance in the face and yell at her to do the stupid symbol. Like how can you be so stupid as to not just freaking do it and then listen to her.

Wow, re-reading this years later... how corny is Cat. Like super corny. Everything out of her mouth is what a guy from the 60s would say... it makes me giggle. Can't wait to see how corny she is in book 2.

FYI in the south they would totally be shot for this… lol

I mean really... he could say anything else than that to get her to stop investigating... like "you just started your new business and are about to be knee deep in custom orders for fall, we have got this under control, we will find the person who murdered your friend" see how easy it is to not be sexist.

If that man tells her to go bake and let everyone else handle everything else one more time I'm gonna reach through this book and strangle him.

I wish the author would stop using the word comely. I don't know why she thinks this is a good word to use for handsome... it means more like he decent looking. Some many words that could be used, I didn't say anything in the first book bc she only used it once... now it is twice and PLEASE use better words. I literally thought Fox was ugly for a full chapter in the first book.

Charlie started out so strong... but has turned into one of those girls that need to be coddled at all times... fingers crossed she gets her groove back its been like 5 books now...

I am sooooo sick of Jack saying… “you’re done” when clearly he has not authority bc he only says it once they have stopped and he never actually does anything. He such a wimp… please give me a real man…

Just finished Chapter 1 and wow... I had read this when Ilona and Gordan had put it on their website in the beginning but had decided to stop reading when they decided it was going to become a book and WOW. Just Chapter 1 alone was great, I love the new details we were missing from when it was a Novella.

Ok she made up for it only after realizing how much of an idiot she is...
