Sadly, you can tell the author isn’t from Louisiana. Or really has no idea what people who don’t drive actually need for identification. If the main character ever wanted an alcoholic drink, she wouldn’t take her passport to the bar. Also, if she ever had to have an appointment in the real world that needed identification… the dmv has IDs for just that, no driving needed.
