Oh hello, 2019! Somehow I managed to not write a single book review this entire past year. I didn‘t even log all of the books I‘ve read in the past few weeks. So there‘s quite a bit of work ahead of me it seems...

My mission for the last hours of the year: Trying to write all the missing reviews for the books I‘ve read in 2017.

I finally added all the remaining books I want to read for my 2017 reading challenges 💪🏻 Now I only need to catch up on my book reviews...

Finished volume 1

This is already so much more fun than the first book!

First impressions:
1) a little too much telling instead of showing
2) cell phones and social media actually exist in these character's lives!

Ok, so far this book is a collection of ALL of the most depressing aspects of motherhood. Wow.

The first story was emotionally brutal, the second deeply disturbing. Maybe this is not the type of book I should be reading right before going to bed.

FINISHED BOOK 1. It's amazing how modern Feuchtwanger's writing feels despite its more than 80 years of age. Especially the last part of the book about the destruction of Jerusalem is incredibly moving.

Wow. Jumping Monkey Hill is one of the best short stories I have ever read.

I'm now 5 stories in and enjoying it very much so far. The book is very versatile, with stories about present-day life in Nigeria, how its affected by the country's history, and what cultural difficulties Nigerian immigrants face in the USA.

I can't decide whether this book is making me love or hate the idea of going to New York. What I do know is that this book is making me feel New York. Somehow.

This book is dragging me down so badly but I just can't stop reading it!

My first ever ebook! I'm not sure what to think of it yet.

Top goal for this year: To read more books!
