actually really awesome. im always afraid of old books because I have trouble with the language but its reading really well. was feeling done with barthes 4 the day and so started. now I am going to socialize with my real life friends! who here knows "Zebulon?" xD

was planning on starting a novel today but started this over breakfast and bc I have literally nothing to do today kept going. two of the essays so far (Gide, The Lady of Camellias) I didn't really process (the first I wasn't focusing + too referential, the second too referential). everything else pretty fun.
kinda familiar with most of it, and read summaries of a lot, so its cool to read the actual things themselves

I feel like I read this almost all day and I only read 10 pages! its really really really good like nothing ive ever read at all. loving loving.

starting over

i got stuck on page 74 because it sucked. BUT PAGES 75-91 WERE SO FUN. love this guy. even though he is impossible (for me) to read without a dictionary and Wikipedia open in front of me.

I think the oldguy owner of the used bookstore saw me/was annoyed that I sorted through the 4 used copies of white teeth to find the cheapest one. it’s actually not my fault that there were four used copies (it’s also not my fault that I think none of them had ever been opened). he “harrumphed” at the me when he opened it to see the price. not my fault. didn’t even know people “harrumphed” in real life.

GUYS. I JUST FOUND OUT THAT I NEVER SUBMITTED MY SUMMER EXPERIENCE AWARD APPLICATION. 4000 DOLLARS I WAS EXPECTING IS SIMPLY NOT GOING TO COME. WHAT DO I DO!!!!????
