Penelope Wright > Recent Status Updates

I've been reading this book forever. I can only do 10-15 pages a day, it's DENSE. Not enjoying it the way I enjoyed the first 4, but I'll get through it, but it will probably take me another month, so I'm way behind my reading goals.

I had to read 35 books this past semester and I got so busy that I literally could not keep up with keeping track of them here. So, I read probably 20 books or so after the last one that I logged, and I gave up on adding them to Goodreads, but now that my semester is over I'm back! I am reading Here One Moment for enjoyment and not just tearing through it to notch a database entry.

I found this on my shelf and on the inside front cover in marker "Penny W. RIF." So I've had this book on my TBR list for about 40 years. I know I never read this one, and I can see why. The first couple of chapters set up a bullying scenario, and I was experiencing extreme bullying in my personal life at the same time, and I know I wouldn't have wanted to read about it. That's no escape. The book is good so far tho.

I was reading my daughter's copy of this book because her English class was studying it but they finished the unit and now I have no copy, which is why I've stalled out here. I need to get my own copy.

This is going to be really hard to read because I've got the mass market paperback version. The font is like 7 point, MAYBE, and the printing offsets are bad, I'll have to break the spine to get it to open as wide as I need to in order to read the words on the right hand side of every even numbered page. I listened to this in audiobook though and I know it's WONDERFUL and I really want to read the book with my eyes.

I liked it, and I was engaged, but I kept getting a couple of the main characters confused, Deb and Trina felt like the same person, they weren't distinctive enough, or it would have been 5 stars.
