I am bored. I am not sure this is worth continuing?

I liked her other book but just wondering where the vampires are in this one.

As far as Doniphan goes… No Great Loss there.

As far as Doobie goes, that was plain unnecessary. I mean wtf man.

I get why people like Lonesome Dove more than this book, but there is a sort of building tension to this one that LD doesn’t have as all the players move into place. I am expecting one hell of a grand finale. (Ugh my heart.)

I have an absolutely terrible feeling about how this is going to end and I don’t know if I can handle it.

McMurtry is so mean.

More like a series of interconnected short stories than a novel. Kind of like How High We Can Go In The Dark.

I don’t dislike it but I wish publishing companies would market their books more accurately. Wasn’t really what I was looking for right now but I might like it better if I’d been better prepared.

Since I just finished Picture of Dorian Gray, figured this was a good time to jump into The Dorians.

There aren’t a whole lot of references to its namesake so far.

I’m enjoying it. It started a little slow but the premise is intriguing.

Yeah I’ve forgiven Mr McMurtry a lot of these.

Not this one though.

I very much do not like Elmira.

I do sort of wonder if it helps to be a fan of Roy’s to enjoy this? I’ve never read any of her other work, and while I appreciate the writing, I do find myself somewhat bored.

I want to love this collection so bad and I feel like I have no idea what’s going on. lol

Only like 10 pages in and love it so much already. I desperately needed a good one. 2026 reading has been rough.

Not sure if it’s exactly what I expected, maybe a little more mystery than horror, but still a good time.

What in the world are the other 150 pages about?!

Also is it over yet? Sheesh. Who the hell wants to watch this movie again? 😂
