Yeah, it's not really a vampire novel so much as it is a novel about colonization with a splash of vampires for good measure. As much as I loved this book I'll always be an advocate for DNFing!

Thanks, that’s what I’m gathering. I actually do like historical fiction and I’m really into the westernish vibes but it just feels so repetitive right now. I either needed it to be shorter or for there to be more horror.It’s a shame because I thought the Hacienda was so good.
