when she chickened out of telling him about her parentage I just felt deflated. How could anyone not want to know his reaction... his reaction would be the deal maker or breaker. for me. Who wants to be with someone who visits the sins of the parents on the children. But what really made me take a break is that she chickened out then had a right romp in bed. Disappointed in her strength of character at this point.

Not sure I can progress. The narrative just so tedious and I'm starting to loose interest in the characters and thier relationship. They've been frustrating from the beginning.

I am enjoying this so far. I am feeling for Sabrina's fears because of ill treatment. I am amazed at how wonderful Gideon is, almost too goid to be true. But he is amazing and exactly what this poor girl and her children need. But there is this unspoken impending doom that makes it an anxious read.

Mind you I had a duh moment. Book takes place in 1874 Alice in Wonderland was published in 1865

I'm sucked in. But I'm over the 'big oaf' references. Did they tend to roll eyes back then? I thought I liked Claire in the beginning, but her intelligence is called into question further along. Her attachment to her family isn't supported, in that there is no warmth demonstrated. I like Perry and Lord Edon. Nate needs to loosen up. Too straight laced and serious.
