Occasionally, I feel bad for the main character because she was conditioned to feel the way she does. She’s a frustrating character, and throughout the chapters, I couldn’t help but scream at her, “You’re ambitious and have big dreams? Go ahead and chase them. Nothing is stopping you except your archaic beliefs.”

Pretty interesting read so far

Oh god. It’s been a while since a book makes me kicking my feet in the air.

Also, just wanted to add, I’ve read another book with a similar theme (life in the future with AI) and I can’t stop comparing these two. The world building of the other book (the Scythe series(?) by Neal Shusterman) is done more tactfully than this book. Just gonna power through the first half since reviews said it is a bit draggy, hopefully the end is worth it.

Not gonna lie, this is not what I expected when I read the synopsis. The writing style, the theme, I was expecting more of a sci fi adventure and not a day-to-day story of someone who lives in the future. The writing is a bit juvenile and simplistic. I find the world building a little ‘forced’ with random futuristic features being explained sporadically throughout the book.

As much as I love light hearted reading and cute moments, I feel really frustrated with how immature both of the characters are. Not a bad book overall, but I find the drama really unnecessary.
