I never thought I would be at this point as I believe on (at least) one review of a Sepetys book in the past, I said I would read anything and everything she writes. However, I'm really struggling with both the characters and the story of this new one. Perhaps it's a case of good book/bad timing. But for now I'm going to abandon it.

Too much entitlement and whininess. I just can't do it right now. I think the audiobook made it worse. I mean, the voice actor was spot on. I was hoping to make it further in to some lesson learning happening, because the Goodreads summary says it's coming. But it's a nope for me at this time. Maybe I'll try to the paper book in the future.

I really wanted to finish this book to learn about and honor just a few of the brave service members who fought in WWII. However, the writing and rambling is going to do me in.
