So far the commentary before the actual book has been very eye opening and has me questioning my own biases…

Grabbed my attention with the smut but the writing is a little mediocre😭 im going to push through I think but im trying to see how the plot will unfold. This “uncle” character just seems unnecessarily rude and insensitive

I admire his writing. It’s very full and almost suffocating to digest at times in a good way. He just says what he means and means what he says. No sugar coating and no wondering what comes next. His narration of covid and during covid matches basically what I was feeling and how stressful it was to live in a pandemic but to also have to live through another “pandemic,” that of being black.

I’m shook. The premiere went great and Ben told Anna he loves her and here’s the thing, he means it. But Anna gave him no answer no response no nothing and now Ben lets her know that they can’t continue to see eachother right as he leaves off for the airport. Idk I really wanted them to be together but it seems like Anna already has a lot going on and needs time to heal. But she can heal with Ben by her side!

😂 clock it anna!!! now she’s getting into it with Ben and how he doesn’t tell her much about himself fr! He just distracts her with yk!

Don’t get me wrong, I love the chemistry but I don’t like the fake dating ploy😭 also I want some more depth of Ben. We get a little piece by piece but im so intrigued and I want more!! I wish Anna knew about his struggles as well vs him just knowing about hers. She’s fighting the realness of this “relationship” I hope they end up together 😂

😭Stop denying the connection Anna! We all know this “fake” relationship ploy will turn out to be real! Soooo good

🤭😭omggg the hotel scene was so good!! but I really don’t want Anna to fight the chemistry she has with Ben!! THEY COULD BE GREAT

So far I like how anna’s character has been introduced! Plus sized and soft and I enjoy seeing someone like me being portrayed in this light! I’m excited to see how her and Ben’s relationship plays out. So far it’s professional with slight attraction 🤭
