ughh I just love Peeta. 10/10. For his ind session with the gamemakers, he painted a pic or Rue of how she looked when Katniss placed the flowers around her. I completely forgot about that. Katniss also went in bold with mock hanging a dummy of Seneca Crane.

From the very few memories I have of this, I did remember this main plot point with the games!!

Also just want it noted that at first (to me at least) the prequels Collins released seemed like a money grab. But rereading the OGs now I see Collin’s had the kernels for those stories already, at least for Sunrise. Can’t wait to get to sunrise but uh…I’ve heard that one’s extra rough

Of course Peeta would have PTSD too. I probs was too young and ignorant to know what PTSD was when I first read this. A discussion Peeta and Katniss have about his paintings:

'I know what he means. Nightmares . . . now plague me whenever I sleep.'

i'm only 40 pages in, but Katniss is already starting to have flashbacks :(

Welp, we are heading straight into trauma in the first 2 pgs:

But the Victory Tour makes that impossible . . . it is the Capitol's way of keeping the horror fresh and immediate . . . Welp, I've given the first book a few hours to settle. Time to return to pain...

I remember considering "Catching fire" my favorite out of the trilogy. Let's see how it stacks up on a re-read.

I love that this book is exploring what killing actually does to a person. Nothing is sugar coated.

This is even better than I remember. Pretty sure I read the whole series in high school after I watched the first movie when it came out in theaters in the 2010s and then eagerly waited for the next movies to come out. Definitely is hitting harder and different as an adult. Damn. I think I'm in for pain...
