I love that this book is exploring what killing actually does to a person. Nothing is sugar coated.

Why am I crying in the club right now? God, this hits SO MUCH HARDER the older you are reading these. If you know, you know.

This is even better than I remember. Pretty sure I read the whole series in high school after I watched the first movie when it came out in theaters in the 2010s and then eagerly waited for the next movies to come out. Definitely is hitting harder and different as an adult. Damn. I think I'm in for pain...

So far, so good. Not really sure why people don't like this one. It's got a "come closer" kinda vibe, so maybe that's why this novel is working for me. Yes, I will say for this is not scary so far (but it does have some gross moments). It's more a literary horror exploring addiction and grief than straight up "scares" at this point, but I'm enjoying it. Also, as a native of VA it's cool to read an author from RVA

Okay, this is brilliant. Up there with "American Psycho" (which I should re-read at some point.) "Fight club" is like the opposite of "AP" but in so many ways shares similar themes. Kinda crazy that two very strong novels critiquing consumerism came out just a few years apart in the '90s. And they're probably both even more relevant now with the advent of online shopping and the state of the world.

Quite liking this so far. Love when long books have short chapters!

So glad I decided to revisit this and annotate. It's way more complex than what I picked up on my first reading. Yes, this explores: patriarchy, anti-capitalism and anti-consumerism, terrorism, manhood in America and male friendship/bonding, banality of life, insomnia. But this time I'm picking up on homoerotcisim, internalized homophobia, and themes of anarchy. I'm not sure about the DID or just a case of alter ego

okay, I probably should have seen the twist, but I totally didn't!

Still really enjoying this and finding it hard to put to down! (but i do have other hobbies lol). Hoping this novel keeps its momentum
