Shoot I’m not caring for this book! This may be a rare DNF but really what makes me sick is the “cool girl” vibes: H saying he likes h so much because she “got over bing clingy” and doesn’t nags him and has sex with him whenever and where ever? Like that’s why? Woooowwww such a lucky guy! Bet you treat her well! Oh… you really kinda don’t? Huh.
Might just not be in the mood. Will revisit later!

Wow, I’m really enjoying this so far! I love the Inn Keeper idea and the guest Caledonia is just a treat! I didn’t love the two other IA books/series I’ve read so far, so I’m so glad I gave her another chance. This one is fun, good wit, unique unpredictable world building and creatures, some nice tension between the main characters. Definitely keeping my interest!

Ok I’m 12 pages and 1% in. I had to pause to get some spoilers. First, I don’t care for the heroine-as-sex-worker trope. AT. ALL. It turns me right off and some of the other reviews I’ve read are making me pretty hesitant about continuing. However... I LOVE Laura Thalassa, and if anyone can turn my skepticism upside down, it’s her. So, here we go...🤞

Holy cow this book is freaking intense!

Super irritated that the heroine is with another guy (high school sweetheart, dated 10+ years) until 17%! 17%!!!! That’s nearly a FIFTH of the book where she’s playing house with another guy who is not her HEA. I’m hoping for a quick improvement because OM/OW issues are NOT my thing.

Oh I am LOVING this book right now! So refreshing and easy - both H/h are good people and have so much in common but they don’t even know it. It’s like a perfect blend of contemporary romance with a historical/regency flavor. It’s such a pleasure (and to HOT!) watching these two fall in love! I will so be reading more of Louise Bay (this is my first time reading her)!

Wow wow wow!!! Really enjoying this book so far - it’s living up to the hype and jerking me out of my book funk!

Far fetched at 14%: Second base in 3.5 seconds after meeting, revenge ruining, and marriage proposal accepted.... call me skeptical and yet strangely intrigued!
