I'm sorry, but Altan is starting to seem more like a liability then a useful asset.

Hi, Derry. I wasn't expecting to see you here.

This is so good. This could be considered my "first" Stephen King book, since I haven't finished IT. And I now understand the hype. Only 100 pages in and I'm hooked.

So I want to be empathetic and understanding that he is going through trauma, but i don't like the fact that Jesse is refusing to acknowledge the fact that the women he left behind might not be the same he's come back too. He is trying to start up seemingly almost from exactly where they left off, as if he hasn't been gone for 3 years. He'll even change the subject if she tries to bring up a change in herself.

So far I'm really really enjoying this!
My one tiny issue (very small) is that the Venture is obviously inspired by another famous book where people are put into an arena to fight each other to the death. And while that isn't everything that takes place in these games and the premise is different, there are parts where I could clearly see the similarities. But I'm loving the story, the world, and the dinos so much.

Im finding the whole world building in this book and the mix of culture extremely interesting and fun! It took me a hot minute to get my bearings around it, but I'm starting to understand it and how its all building up but im liking it.

So many questions. So few answers. But the world-building is on point!!

I know I'm only 4% in, but I'm having a harder time getting into this than I thought I would. I was so excited, too. I'll keep pushing through and see what happens...👀
