I have a feeling I should have DNF’d this at the 44% mark (or earlier) but I want to see if Bellefleur can write herself out of this. She hasn’t let me down before (at least with her FF stuff that I’ve read). But I have my doubts. So I’m marking this spot now to see if I was right and should have stopped here (or earlier) or see if she can pull it off.

This gets better, right? Because the first third of this book has been a struggle. I shouldn’t be so bored about someone running from the law because they’re suspected of murder!

Does Charlotte get any less manipulative in this? I'm uncomfortable.

I try to gauge what's appropriate by how I would react if a man did X, and right now Charlotte is just a walking red flag.

Some please tell me this book will get better? It’s turning my stomach into knots.
