I’m listening to it on audio for white noise while I’m working and I can already say wholeheartedly that the movie is better

it’s not horrible I just need good rich prose to really love a book and this is straight genre fiction which is not to slander the writing but it’s just not feeding me, you know?

While reading Atmosphere I figured I should juxtapose that experience by listening to the most hypermasculine void-of-all-emotion audiobook I could think of and this was the obvious choice. Jokes aside Bourdain is an excellent writer and I thank god I am no longer a waitress

Ok already I love Backman’s writing style. Funny and witty and then you get punched in the chest

The fast pacing is mostly working for me but there are some moments that should definitely have a few more breaths, it feels a little like we’re whizzing by.
