things that have happened in this book that I need updates and clarification on:
- marella's pregnancy
- the shoe competition
- inheritance of the manor. I used to assume this had to do with why the girls were dying but now I think it's just some early on bullshit included to throw suspicion
- the dragon man
- gods and their role in this world
- what is happening to the sisters and why are they dying

I'm sort of SO pissed off, I just feel like this book is so unfocused. I cannot trace point a to point b to point c. Which I #DoNot think is a me problem. and I'm bored!!! This book doesn't even have real stakes to me. Has the shoe competition been totally dropped?? Things keep happening with no follow through or explanation and I'm so irritated. I also just care about nothing going on here.

literally what the hell is happening

I can't even find satisfaction in (redacted) being the hans from frozen of this story bc (redacted) isn't even interesting or compelling. and I'm still bored! like (redacted) being (redacted) does not compel me at all. and their dad kinda hates them btw.

- i would like to be brazenly flirted with. I do not mean that at all but maybe I do (I don't).

it's actually not bad. idk if it's good but it's definitely not bad. I'm kind of in shock idk what to do with myself

listening to this while fighting with every bone in my body not to over-pack. what if I need a fifth pair of pants. what if the weather changes swiftly and it will be 40° in early september? you don't know. nobody knows.

I could probably get away with reading this before the first book tbh. but I put it on hold at the library and there's a copy in my home branch so I should be able to get it today

okayyyyy came here to say that knights being kinda religious is something I forget about, thus reading this back to back with thornhedge is interesting. but now I'm seeing that this says book #2 and am scared. ignoring it for now

unrelated to the book, sorry. just updating. talked to someone last night who said "oh I couldn't get xyz book at the library. they don't carry it bc it's christian :(" it's like. can we not. they don't carry it because it's not a popular book. there are so many non-religious books I have to get from a different library system bc they don't have it. also the bible is at the library. so how does that make sense

a grotesque new development just occured low-key. omg I'm sick.

this book is truly excellent & whimsical as it explores how women are expected to behave and how much of a cage it really is. so much fun while also really making a point for young women to break free and think and act for themselves. gail carson levine, ur kinda my hero idk. ella, my multilingual queen

Sick to my stomach bc I thought the movie came out next week so I didn't have this done in time for opening day. Lord willing I can see the movie Saturday evening (almost impossible) or Sunday evening (maybe???) but it kills me that I couldn't watch it today on its opening day

not as zany as the movie adaptation would have you believe, but very good

every man in this is of course the most noble and upright man to exist ever and every woman of course has an innate ability to comfort men in only the way a woman with a mother's instinct can. also of course she is too fragile to do the heavy monster hunting and must stay at home due to the weaker disposition of her sex. god kill me.

I'm really enjoying it :)

I knocked over a giant cart of books today in the library by accident (hole in floor :( rolled the wheels right into it) and nobody came to help me clean them up. meet cutes do not exist in real life ladies!!!!
