I am *this* close to putting it down. I love to hate Empyrean, but Onyx Storm is almost unreadable. Violet and Xaden are obnoxious and immature, the pacing is glacial, the writing still awful (I now hate the word “liquefy”), and I couldn’t care less about the many secondary characters Yarros spends so much time on.
