Sears is amazing. It is fun after immersing in the Civil War for many years now it is fun to know names, people, and places which give you a foothold in the time.

True to Sears I feel right in the middle of the action, up close to the people, and inside their heads, while at the same time having a large view that keeps the context and setting. Sears writes so effectively and engagingly.

An incredibly helpful book that reveals a lot of truth as found on social and psychological sciences regarding motivation and decision making. Many of the findings find explanatory foundation in the Christian worldview that are also intuitive (largely) in everyday life.

Helpful personally, organizationally, and educationally.

This book has been an engaging read. I appreciate much of what Gupta communicates about the ministerial activity of women in the New Testament.

To a large degree I agree with his basic thrust: where men were doing ministry in the Apostolic era, women were there too.

Yet, there are some (in my estimation) exegetical and logical weaknesses in some recent chapters that weaken the work a bit.

So far, a really insightful read! Gupta has been on my "to-read" authors list for a while. This book is packed with information and pastoral tone. His emphasis and work is really helpful. Other than some exegetical differences here and there his message, aim, and work to this point has been superb. His work on the complexity of the Greco-Roman social classes and their impact on gender and society was fantastic.

Coming to the close of one of the best works I have read.

It has drawn me to worship, cherish, and enjoy the Lord's beauty.
