The faces I knew so well – that would age and wrinkle, with haircuts that would come and go, and lines that would deepen. Some from laughter, some from sadness. Time would march determinedly on, and we would hold onto each other determinedly as it did so.

Another year of growing, changing, learning and, inevitably, being let down by life and the fact that it just keeps going, rather than pausing on the days when everything is going well.

We’d both worked so hard to get better. Us, our love, was our reward. We were supposed to be basking in the harvest of our efforts, not tumbling back down into dark rabbit holes.

This is life, Lottie. There’s no such thing as a happy ending. Because there’s no such thing as an ending. More days keep coming, some good some bad. You can’t just stay limboed in a moment of happiness – that’s not realistic.

Amber running away from her family who treats her like a stranger. Lottie isolating and shutting everyone out because uni and Will wrecked her confidence. Evie is once again spiraling because Oli is spiraling too and is going to be left all alone in their tiny town.

This is so sad but this is reality. People change. People leave.

There are always two sides to a story. Being blinded by anger and getting misunderstood screws it all up.

It's so sad and heartbreaking once people get tired of you and your whole persona. It's like they were just putting up with you the whole time and suddenly they realize they had enough of your shit huhu

When you thought this was going to be a cute novella where the trio keep on kicking some asses but it turns out this all about growing up and falling out with your best friends. This is most painful to Evie because she once lost her best friend Jane to her OCD battle. Not this again. This is too much for her.

I’m being left behind because I’m boring and broken and too scared to go away anywhere, and they’ll forget me and I’ll be alone for ever.
