The creative liberty that Stephen Fry takes makes the read so delightful. It makes quite a difference what an intelligent person can add. The read is not for an academic study, so these things don’t matter, how accurate certain descriptions are. One instance is where he describes Helios’ laughter as being high pitched - surely because of the effect Helium has on the voice!

The flow of details is so good in this book. Everything follows naturally. These are not presented as isolated collection of stories, but are very well connected. It was an overwhelming and slow read at the start because of the number of characters introduced, but you don’t need to remember them strictly. This book is a fun read, so just keep reading and don’t let the details bog you down!

Any story that is relatable works the best. But what do you do when it is a mythological one? Whether it really happened or not, we know that the stories were a result of human experiences from an earlier time. By telling the story in such a way that we understand the rationale of those who created them and relating them to present times, Stephen Fry does an excellent job of making the read quite an interesting one.

The creative mind of Stephen Fry makes this book such an interesting read. Even if it is a story that you already know, Stephen’s interpretation and imagination of how incidents could have played out is just fascinating.

It is a great pleasure to follow the works of Stephen Fry. As much as I know about the Greek myths from various derived sources, the kind of analogies and interpretations that Stephen makes is fascinating!
