I liked the writing style, original and somewhat challenging. The puzzle book.

Liked Felicia Shaw's character, the black gal from the unnamed island who joined her mother in Canada - and remained here after her mom's passing. She is strong, emotionally available and empathetic to those in need. I like her faith - although she is not much of a talker.

Thought it is well written, but a bit too superficial when it came to his personal life and challenges.

Don't usually like reading books/theory about faith, and this book too has its share of playing with words and doing analysis of the words.... but there are several instances when the book got feeling out of me, made me feel my faith.

Some passages did talk to my heart, and for those it was well worth reading this book.

I would have liked more facts and less speculation (imaginary dialogues). I would have liked to read about her life after the WWII, but I didn't get the chance....not in this book.

That being said, this is a very easy read, pages turned quickly, and the only reason I have not finished it sooner was reading other stuff.
