Auggggggh this book is awful! I am SO disappointed! But if I finished Elfin, I can finish this!

Can we make it a thing where if you're going to have a glossary and/or pronunciation guide, you either put it in the front of the book or at least make a note at the front that there's a glossary in the back? I don't flip to the back of the books because I don't want to find spoilers, and this one was hidden between the acknowledgments and "preview of book 2" anyway. Feel like it really detracted from the book. Argh!

Oh, I see what's going on. Well played...although totally disorienting!

Am I totally off or did the two main male characters just trade names? Or maybe they swapped roles and it really is Rafe hanging out with Kaden's mentor and Kaden out doing assassin things with the gang. Or maybe I inhaled too many paint fumes at work today.

I'm almost done with this book and I've never seen the Dragon express any emotion besides anger towards the heroine. Super unappealing. Starting out that way is fine, but still so late in the book? And the one and only "romance" scene was totally awkward and out of place and even uncomfortable to read and why even bother? In other news, the actual plot is decent, though nothing groundbreaking.

Oh I hope the story is good, because the author's writing style and imagery is beautiful!

Really unimpressed so far. Either the writing style has really slipped from what I remember, or my expectations were just too high. I'm really hoping it picks back up as it goes along!

Wow, that's a pretty specific curse. Seriously?

This is almost exactly like "Sun and Moon, Ice and Snow" (a retelling of East of the Sun, West of the Moon) but with some Beauty and the Beast thrown in. And maybe the protagonist is reminiscent of Katniss Everdeen. Not necessarily a bad combination; we will have to see.

Pretty good so far, but if I were Juliet I'd be much more concerned with my father's experiments and the deformed natives than with whether I liked Montgomery or Edward better. Also, what kind of name is Montgomery for a love interest?

Please tell me this book is going to get better later. So many people told me it was good! Could they really all have been lying to me? :(

Little things are kind of predictable, but I have no idea what's going on in the overall scheme of things. The whole "bleep" thing is super annoying, even though it's explained, but that's about my only complaint so far.

So far so good! It's a little more juvenile than Illusions of Fate, but it has the same strong, witty writing style that I love!

I really am not impressed at all so far. This came really highly recommended by people both on and off Goodreads, so Im really really hoping it gets better!

If I did the whole DNF thing, I'd have abandoned this book already. I don't like the story or the characters enough to stay interested. Lily is too powerful and "special."

Argh Lily's whole vegan, won't wear fur/leather, anti-this, anti-that is super preachy and obnoxious. You've been dragged into an alternate world with deadly monsters, but no, you can't wear leather clothing when your original outfit gets shredded, heaven forbid!

Now it reminds me of Howl's Moving Castle AND Clockwork Angel. The heroine is fantastic; she's tough without being unrealistically badass. Finn has promise too so we'll see!

I can believe the leprechauns and the arranged marriage and all that. But the thing that's totally unrealistic is the fact that this girl is in Ireland and she keeps running around in shorts and flip flops! Obviously the author has never been to Ireland--it's nice to romanticize and all that, but Ireland is a cold, wet, windy country, and shorts and flip-flops have no place there!

Well, the first chapter was great. Very reminiscent of Howl's Moving Castle. Hopefully the quality keeps up!

Wow I really like this book so far! I expected it to be really haunting, gruesome, and creepy, but it's not. I'm sure it will get more intense as time goes on. Phantom of the opera, in a slaughterhouse, and now with steampunk elements...wins all around!

Less than two pages in and I realized that purchasing this book was a terrible mistake. This book is absolutely awful so far, but I paid for it and I started it, so I have to finish it! This is going to be a long ride....

Off to a good start! The writing is beautiful and refreshingly skillful

I like Chaos and Torrie SO much better than Defiance and Whitney! Seems like not a lot has happened by 82% though....And if Havoc and Sophie become a thing, so help me, I will throw my kindle out the window
