This book is good if you know the truth from the beginning…otherwise

But I am actually thoroughly enjoying this I think more than the first time

I’d like everyone to know the “games” in this book still have not started. The writing is so good that it is almost hard to notice that absolutely nothing has happened (but not impossible I have noticed and I’m getting irritated)

I forgot how absolutely insane the incest was in this

How was this allowed in a YA book

“ to conciliate a diminishing Indian population at the expense of infuriating white frontiersmen was risky. Better to make war on the Indian, gain the support of the white, divert possible class conflict by turning poor whites against Indians for the security of the elite.”

And history repeats itself over and over and over again.

Truly this CANNOT be real

One two page interaction between Theo and winter is the highlight of this book so far I am struggling to make myself even hate read it. This sucks.

I hate men

I don’t think I’ve ever been so immediately sucked into an audiobook. I’m also already annoyed at this cover.

This is about a female chemist in the 50s/60s who becomes a tv chef if you don’t know.

The phrase “puffy lips” makes me literally cringe soooo hard 🥴

Yeah they really aren’t sugarcoating how disturbing this is but it’s disturbing in a much different way than I expected

I like how he repeatedly told her needed to tell her someone and she wouldn’t let him and then 20 minutes later she found out what he was going to tell her and got mad ab it

I like how the writer of the journal from the 1200s speaks modern English

Reread before I read What Moves the Dead by T Kingfisher (bought to get out of my slump). I was really locked in by the dialogue on the back but I don’t want to miss any references to this since I definitely remember nothing from Dr Shannon’s class (not a fan)

Realized I never logged this bc the hold lapsed but it will eventually come back

Oh yeah and I’m also reading this one
