What a weird reversal. Every chapter, I like Rhys a little more and Tamlin less. I hated the person Rhys was but like who he's becoming. And vice versa, I liked who Tamlin used to be but hate who he's becoming. This is a rollercoaster of a sequel! And I have a feeling it's just going to get more rollercoasterey with each chapter. Looking forward to it! 🧐😵‍💫🫨🙃

That's not a possibility. the thing to do is take ownership of your wrongdoings, apologize with sincerity, and listen and support your children when they talk about the aftermath, how it affected them, how it still affects them. And don't ever guilt them for the things they feel.

Ok, I've seen the movie like a dozen times and can I just say... Vivi's reaction to that article is exactly the way a manipulator and abuser responds. Someone who feels no guilt would not then disown their child. They would be upset about lies about them, but they would understand that their child is not responsible for what a journalist actually writes and publishes. This feels like projection. Js.

God, I hate this woman. I really do. She's probably the one that outed him. She probably snooped through his room and found something about universitycity and outed him so she could get him to break down. Then, she could control him. She's the worst kind of parent; gets off on breaking and controlling her kids.

This is such an intense memoir. I've had to put it down a couple times to take a breath. Sometimes, Roxane's experiences are so different than my own. Other times, it's like she's putting to words things I've never been able to or never thought to put to words before.

I wish I hadn't waited so long to pick this one up. I've forgotten a lot of what happened and some of the characters in the previous books.
But still enjoying this! So easy to fall back into this story. I've only been reading for a little over an hour and I'm already nearly a hundred pages in!

Kind of annoyed with the ongoing "are they gay or straight" discussion. As much as I appreciate some of the inner monologue stating that Mike and Dylan aren't either, there's still a feeling so far that they can only be one or the other. It's a spectrum. They could be bi. Or biromantic heterosexual since so far, they don't appear to have true-blue sexual attraction towards one another. I hope this gets explored.

Did i know that Sarge's name is Musenda?? I don't think I did.

I know there's probably a lot going on behind the scenes that we aren't yet privy to, but it's kinda difficult reconciling this younger Ozorne with the older Ozorne in the future. I know people change, but he's been such a good friend so far... even if he does seem like he's orchestrating Arram's future into a warmage for no doubt, himself.

YAY! Gay representation! 😍 The Emelan universe has really been branching out in diversity. Glad to see the Tortall universe doing the same.
Also, Ramasu and Onestu are super adorable. I hope this small scene isn't the only one we get with them!

So, about "The Talk"... I know these scenes are kinda grossing some readers out, but can I say, I don't mind it. It's kinda... refreshing actually. I remember the girls series covering things like puberty, sex, and romance so it makes sense that Pierce's boy-oriented series would too. I don't really get this hesitation. I know most of us are women, so it's a little awkward to read, but puberty is universal.

So... wait... does Ozorne have a mental illness? Is that medicine going to make him worse over time and that's why he... well, becomes what he will one day become?
