Listening to the English audio book, and I just can’t with Nick’s voice, he sounds like Donald trump 😬

The male narrator sound like a 60yo British butler, it’s making it difficult to get into the book

So far, not living up to all the 4-5 star reviews. I’m very bored

Given that my usual reads are either romance, crime, or fantasy, I’m really struggling with this book. I don’t know if I’m missing the point of the story, or if I haven’t gotten to the point yet, but I really don’t know where this story is going. The pov is a bit weird too

I thought this was gonna be a good one, but the dialogue sounds like pre teens playing FBI. There’s no substance. And when Fiona says she found book lice on the body, and everyone acts like this information will crack the case cos now all they need to do is find someone who lives in Portland with a basement and books… sure, that narrows it down

Is there not one straight person in this book? Don’t get me wrong, it’s great all sexualities are being represented, it just seems really unlikely and a little too ott

Pet peeve… poorly introduced characters. So much so, that I have to keep flicking back and forth to figure out who we’re talking about. It shouldn’t be this difficult to keep track this far in

I find a lot about this book contradictory. One minute the FMC describes herself as a tattooed badass, then next minute, disagrees with the MMC’s description of her as strong as he’ll generous antique maven??? It’s like she doesn’t know what she thinks or wants. Does she want a boyfriend, or does she not. Does she like the MMC, or not. I honestly don’t know

I’m finding the writing to be a bit? Scattered??
It’s hard to read in spot, like I’m reading someone’s adhd thoughts or something. But also, why do I need to know about the colleague’s best friends mothers living situation?? It doesn’t really add to the story

I love the story, but I really don’t like how every character has this deep learning moment where they realised they fucked up in the past but now they know better and they’re such a better person for it (Lina’s high school friend Angie for instance). Out of all of the story line, these are the moments I call bullshit on

What on earth is this author’s obsession with all women’s periods syncing up and making sure the whole town knows about it. It’s just freaking weird

Did Lucy Score have a bet with someone on how many different names for a period she could fit in 1 chapter?? That was just a touch cringy.

Great read so far, cute story, some questionable descriptors used for when the MC’s are feeling a certain way, but otherwise makes me want to run away to a small country town and (slowly) fall in love with my grumpy tattooed Viking looking neighbour

I feel like I’m reading about a group of teenagers playing dress up as ‘mobsters’. I feel they needed more character development

This is giving The Hating Game vibes, but more … frustrating? Annoying?? I dunno. The first 100 pages were a bit of a punish to get through and the story I think is starting to pick up now, but it’s the continual and repetitive inner monologue of Catalina that’s irritating me I think. Nevertheless, I will continue on

Ugh, Im not enjoying this at all. I love a good alpha male/protector storyline every now and then. But this just isn’t good. I’m hoping that this is early work from the author and that here writing has gotten better

I normally love Colleen Hoover, however I’m really struggling to get into this story.

I have no idea where this story is going, and I’m kinda bored of it. This is my first Nora Roberts book and didn’t know what to expect, but I’m not really a fan of her writing style and there’s just chunks of the book where nothing happens.

50 pages in and I’m loving it!

Not entirely sure how I feel about the characters right now, finding them a little frustrating, particularly Mason. Hoping it gets better though

It’s been a while since I’ve read a book by Kristin Ashley, and I remember liking her previous work, but so far this book is very wordy, with too many comma’s ( mischief like this ‘sentence’), and too many names being thrown around to easily keep up with who is who. The way people are introduced sometimes makes it difficult to determine who they are straight away. Just finding it very frustrating!

I honestly feel no connection or emotion between Madison and Dean at all… unfortunately very disappointing so far, but going to push through to see how it unfolds
