needed a lighthearted book to counteract the horrors of Blood Meridian

The only song I’ve heard in this book is I’m Like a Bird by Nelly Furtado but it’s still a good read

Started for a book club and the introduction told me how the book ended …. What’s up with that Marlon James

There’s about a page and a half long sequence where the main character shows his friend how he is able to stop his pee stream and start it again, after which his friend informs him that that is bad for his kidneys, and then the main character gets so angry at him that the other character storms out, leaving his dinner uneaten, and the the main character feels bad because he knows his friend loves to eat.
