Fascinating journey of Tubman’s life and the lives of others who helped free slaves with faith and trust in God. Non-fiction that felt like reading fictional stories. Amazing women.

Fantastic. Best book in a long time (and I loved Buckeye and Sandwich and Louise Penny). This reminds me of King’s The Stand, Station 11, The Road and what is happening in the US today. A slow-burn apocalypse of haunting humanity and a sharp, unsettling edge of tech-driven paranoia. It’s big, messy, and deeply human (less) tale about the end of the world and who we become when it’s hard. And only halfway done.

So I really wanted to read this book and I have a fear of parasites…not just that they are disgusting, but true fear about having them in my body. I kept trying this book which is well written and creepy AND I had to stop because the parasites are so disgusting and frightening to me. If you don’t have an aversion to parasites—you’ll love this book.

Very much enjoyed reading this. Well written and I cared about the characters
