Hiya Goodreads friends.

I have been kind of guiltily ignoring the site for a few months. I've finished several books in that time and can't even remember what they all were, so I'm finally saying "forget it" and starting with what I'm reading now. Hopefully I can get back in the groove of updating and reviewing. I missed you all!

McCarthy is one of my favorite authors and the movie is one of my favorite movies, but I've only read the book once before. Time to change that.

I've read it before but I found a copy at a book sale and couldn't help but pick it up to read it again.

Oh my god I may never finish this book. I've already had to renew my checkout from the library TWICE. I just haven't been making time to read like I should.

I'm beginning to think this book is nothing but an ever-expanding series of protagonists. Halfway through and I'm not even sure there's a story in here.

Ugh. I have straight-up quit reading the Lacks family chapters and am just skimming through the medical stuff. I do want to know their story, just in a smaller and less Skloot-centric version.

I read during my lunch break every day. I'm not going to lie - sometimes I have to stop eating for a minute while I complete certain passages in this book.

I can tell you right now this book is going to be lucky to receive 2 stars when I finish it.

Ugh. Not really loving this so far. The passages written as the diary of a 16-year-old goth girl are especially atrocious.

About to start re-reading The Affirmation by Christopher Priest and very excited about it.

No idea who recommended this to me, or why, and also no idea where this is going or why I'm interested, but I'm going to keep at it. I mean after a little break, that is.

The first three stories have dealt heavily with kids and difficult parents, and if the rest continue down this path I'm going to be disappointed.

Not really digging this one so far. I'm beginning to believe I am incapable of loving a "new" King book, and if I re-read my old ones I'll find I don't love 'em no more either.
