Mmhh. Not what I expected

If I end up DNF’ing this, it’s because the boxing-heavy structure didn’t make me care enough to push through .. not because the book is objectively terrible.

It has been quite interesting to read this book. Only in John Greens' penmanship can tuberculosis keep me this hooked...this book goes into the depth of how a disease like this is subject to social forces and prejudices...how healthcare has evolved, how marginalised communities and countries continue to suffer from a disease that has had a cure for a long time and alott more. Definitely a reccomend .

It’s weird..... the writing’s great, but it honestly feels like nothing’s happening.

The dialogue in this is exquisite

Seeking knowledge as a parent is always enlightening ...you’re constantly discovering new insights that make you rethink your past choices and wonder if too much praise might have done more harm than good

I don’t know, something just isn’t clicking for me. I’m not sure why, but even though I’ve only read a few pages, it already feels a bit flat ... like it’s not really pulling me in.

Why are rereads of some of your favourite Books always this good.

Just brilliant..

I’m about halfway through, but the plot still feels stagnant. The main character is becoming quite unbearable ..
constantly indecisive and frustratingly self-absorbed. It feels like the book wants to explore something meaningful but never really gets there. I haven’t seen any real character growth so far, and I’m starting to doubt it’ll happen. Might take a break and come back to it later.

This is book is proving so insightful with alot of the friction points that come up with raising toddler...plenty of explanationations on developmental behaviour and honestly a good read with superb pointers for anyone thats has a toddler.
