I've never been let down by a kathryn moon book. The best way to deal with a reading slump <3

the MC's denial is kind of annoying but understandable. I'm very curious about where this book is going, especially since i still have a almost hundred pages left. I've already gotten the second and third book in her sworn soldier series, so i'll likely get into that after

So far I'm liking the atmosphere and the build up better than A House With Good Bones. Bugs are back, but this time they're actually terrifying (I made a huge mistake googling botflies 🥲). Maybe T. Kingfisher just does better with historical settings?

This book is very polarizing for me... at first i couldn't really get into it, but at the same time it's fairly interesting. i like the structure of the story, but at times i find myself disappointed with the writing devices used. ultimately it does have great potential, but the main character is very mary sue-like and the book is guilty of clichéd writing and "tell not show" style plot building

i'll finish it at this point, but the whole back and forth of "i obviously want you but no, we can't be together" is getting pretty tired

i don't mind this book and i quite enjoy Ali Hazelwood's writing, but i guess it's just not really it? i don't know how to explain, but my main issue is that Conor doesn't exactly *feel* like an older love interest, he's the same as if he was 28 and not 38, so what's really the point of reading age gap romance, when both characters act the same age? also all the characters are more of a hive mind than individuals

it's incredibly interesting, a shame i don't have much time to really sit down and read it for longer amounts of time

took me a bit to get into it, it's a very different type of writing style for me, but i've been sufficiently hooked

So far very intriguing and written in such an interesting way, can't wait to read more!

Had a little crisis with the book, but the author pulled through and I'm enjoying again

The book has slowed down considerably, so I hope something happens soon. I quite like her dynamic with Bambleby, so that's fun to read!

So far I'm enjoying myself quite a lot. Love the style of the prose and the diary format, and Emily is very lovable in the awkward academic way

This book reminds me of why I left academia, and that's not a compliment

They're both awful and yet I'm intrigued... Don't know if I'll finish it or if this book will piss me off too much

I'm honestly not sure how to feel about this book... I really wanna like it, but at the same time it really doesn't feel like the subject matter is handled that well? I'll keep reading, but I really don't like how Thomil is so chill with Sciona

I'm not sure i like how fast Thomil seems sympathetic towards her considering she's still casually treating him like an illiterate savage

I'm beginning to really get into it now. A very interesting and exciting magic system unlike any I've seen before, but i do have to admit the social commentary is laid on pretty thick

Had to bump this up my reading list cause it's got a reservation on it, but so far I'm fucking loving it

Ophelia is so passive, it's starting to really piss me off

The vibes are vibing but i NEED something to happen please 😭 we're almost at the end and the two main characters barely spoke to each other 😭
