My Captive Prince-induced book hangover is lingering. Save Whyborne and Griffin, I've abandoned every romance that I've since attempted.

Time to switch genres! I work down the street from the Cleveland Trust, and I'm hoping that a twisty homegrown thriller will cure me...

And I think I know why Laurent knows what he knows.

Devastating doesn't quite cut it.

I hate Laurent. I've largely avoided spoilers but already formed a few suspicions about him. Even if they pan out, I can't imagine finding his actions justifiable or believing in the eventual love story. He reminds me of an especially vile bodice ripper villain - but on steroids!

That said, I worked from home today and spent most of the afternoon reading. Absorbing doesn't even begin to describe this story...

Since the heroine and the hero both have black hair, why does the cover feature a pair of blondes? 🤔 Trivial as it may be, I HATE when covers are so blatantly wrong.

I read book one of this series years ago. I remember that I desperately wanted to read about Julian and Lily but, for whatever reason, never got around to it. Hoping that I enjoy it as much as I thought I would!
