Epstein paid private investigators to aggressively stalk some of these girls and their families, looking for anything that could possibly be used to discredit them. What I want to know is... are they still working as P.I.s? And how did the final analysis of this not hurt their reputations, at bare minimum? Are they just overlooked amid the Epstein connections? (Kind of like all of his high-powered lawyers...)

You mean to tell me one of the most quasi-prolific authors of our modern times wrote a true crime book on Jeffrey Epstein years before he (allegedly) died in prison by (allegedly) committing suicide? >.>

Martin's prose is highly accessible... bordering on juvenile, at times. (I'm not putting her down, just noting the word choices.)

At least it was relatively slow burn up until this point...
I think I was hoping for more depth regarding assassinations and military operations.

Now, at last, I feel like I'm connecting with her work.
The first 10 years were perhaps the practice she needed to really get her footing.

Feeling very Middle Grade.
The chapters end in odd places.

So far, it's reminding me of a softer, kinder Assassin's Apprentice.
