This isn’t a criticism of the Irish narrator’s accent, but he’s genuinely mispronounced so many words and does weirdly long pauses in the middle of sentences?!

I swear, this narrator is evoking the spectre of Peter Lorre from ‘Casablanca’ for the familiar

I’m gonna try and guess it now; is she hallucinating from having drunk unpasteurised milk? Or does she have mad cows’ disease from eating contaminated beef?

This very much feels like it's inspired by Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy films, (think 'Woman of the Year' - 1942) and I love that!

This is such a great concept - upmarket women’s fiction hinges on them - but it’s truly brilliantly executed from the jump.
