This is a reread for me and it's been really good. I definitely felt like I wanted to speed thru the beginning a bit but it wasn't actually slow, I'm just anxious to get going with the story lol

This book took a turn and it was not a good turn. I actually really hate it and I'm sad about it because I loved the beginning. My high hopes have been dashed.

Enjoying it so far! Definitely feels YA (bc it is lol). It reads fast. My only complaints has been a bit about character backstory but overall that hasn't been a major issue.

I'm getting so close to the end and there's both a lot happening and almost nothing at the same time.

It's really meh. May not finish.

It moves fast and slow at the same time. I'm not sure if it's actually dragging or if I'm spending too much mental energy trying to figure out what are the true historical events and which ones are stretched to make room for the fiction. Also, Abe gets away with A LOT of murder and so far he has experienced zero repercussions, which I get that it shouldn't deviate greatly from his timeline but it bothers me.

I am moving very slowly through this novel. I think it suffers from many first-time author problems. It's still not bad, it's just a bit much to wade through quickly.
I do want to finish it before the end of the year though.

Slowly but surely making progress. It's not bad but there are a lot of little things that kind of annoy me.

I think what gets me about this book is that it's pretty short for fantast but there's a lot of repetition. It's so far a decent cozy read but the MC says the same things over and over A LOT.

It's a very slow start. I'm not loving the main character, he's a little too listless. It seems like the plot is just starting to move forward now and I'm almost halfway thru the whole book.

Not great

I am on disc 10/11 and I'm still always confused and unsure of what the plot is. Nothing really happens while stuff does happen but idc what happens either.

I started this on audio and had decided not to finish it bc it is quite boring. Unfortunately, I keep forgetting to put a new audiobook in my car so I keep listening to it and I've reached disc 6/11 so I guess I'm going to finish it.

Still not bad at all! Enjoying the characters although I think the plot is a little slow/meh.

The bad guy perspective is unreadable it's so obnoxious. I asked a friend if I need to read it and she said it's just repetitive so I'm skipping it from here on out 😂

Tbh, I just keep starting books hoping they'll be good and I keep being disappointed. Really really hoping this one is at least okay.

This is terrible. I'm not sure how anyone can make it through this book. I'll keep going as long as I can but it feels more and more like a trainwreck. Can't look away from the bad editing and boring exposition dumps.

I really can't even begin to express how much I do not care about Gil or his death or anything in Lore's life right now

I've had to jump around a bunch to get through this so I only have a few chapters left, they're just all over the place.
