OH WE ARE SO BACK—Like the dinosaur movie… anyway I’m turning 28 on Thursday, so this is an apt reference—BECAUSE MY HOLD ENDED BEFORE I FINISHED, AND ITS FINALLY READY FOR ME TO FINISH NOW.

I’d like to thank the person who listened after me for hurrying their f****** a** up and finishing it.

“The Gilded Cage” was kinda tea. An ancient Sith beefs with a Nightsister after he desecrates and steals one of her sisters’ burial pods. So the N-sister uses a Jedi as bait to kill the Sith, but the Jedi is quickly disposed of. So the N-sister takes it upon herself to enact revenge, but gets caged in the mind of the Sith and is never seen by her coven again. This Sith grins every time she screams in his mind.

“The Dark Mirror” was chill. An apprentice mourns the loss of his Master on a mission. A team of Jedi retrieve his belongings from his killers and his Padawan inherits an amulet of his that sends him on an investigation into a dark specter à la Jack the Ripper, terrorizing the poorer districts of Coruscant. He realizes the amulet is imbued with fear and darkness his master hid within it. He falls to the dark.

“Blood Moon” is a werewolf story! And one that piques my interest as an autodidactic scholar of archeology.

There’s a star with a core made of kyber that cracks open and wipes out a civilization with crimson solar flares. A group of archeologists go on an expedition only to realize the flares emit corrupting Dark Side energy as well. One of the explorers goes feral. The Mummy meets AAWIL (1981) but unfunny.

“The Predecessor” is the closest thing to a psychological (illness) horror I’ll ever have to read in a Star War.

An Imp. captain is driven to bouts of paranoia believing his former supervisor is haunting him after everyone ignores questions as to his whereabouts. Is he being haunted? Maybe. What happened to his supervisor that has everyone silent? Sith.

Vader force choking someone has never felt this bleak.

“Buyer Beware” was chill enough. An owner of a shop of antiquities dons a mask from his collection that’s imbued with Dark energy that allows the wearer to re-live memories of the original owner of the mask—Not Lord Momin, but it could be a stand-in. Meanwhile the longer you wear it, the more you’re drawn to the Dark Side and/or to do dark deeds.

Think Gremlins, Wishmaster, The Mask… Concepts like that.

“The Orphanage” is so good. This short story is Salem’s Lot meets Star Wars, and I never knew I needed this. Instead of a vampire, our main antagonist in this story is an Inquisitor—a Pauan by the sound of it, and therefore probably The Grand Inquisitor—who stalks an orphanage post Clone Wars and the fall of the republic, kidnapping force-sensitive children in order to raise them as Inquisitors.

My digital loan returned automatically while reading. Guess I’m waiting for approximately 6 weeks to finish because other losers exist…

Anyway, I left off around the the turn of the 9th century during the reign of Ashurnasirpal II and his conquest over Syria, Assyria, the Hittites, Aramaeans, etc………………

I’m pissed💀
