This princess betrothed to the Returned God King business reminds me of Sara Raasch. I think I agree with Lightsong, the MC Returned God who is disenchanted with his status and his dull life and touched more by his need to sacrifice full life to sustain himself, but the politics are interesting. It's also interesting comparing this with a tandem read of Eye of the World.

Way too much similar in tropes, allusions, and parallels to The Lord of the Rings, specifically books I-III, The Fellowship of the Ring, so far. I hope it becomes its own soon, but good last 2 chapters.

Some nice discussion and debate about the biological cause of red tide and the x-factor in historical tipping-point moments between Doc Ford and young encyclopaedic and bum spiritual, Tomlinson. Here's hoping for more discussion! Just like with other adventure thrillers, private investigator and hardboiled noir novels, this is a good one to read out with food and drink.

These are some bold villains, blowing up public institutions about town during a blizzard. And we have the first (seems there will be further ones) mention of the title's reference! Got through sections of this and another older adventure thriller the same day.

Started this at an earlier time and thought I had documented it somewhere, but I guess not. A great selection for reading out at a venue.

I forgot I documented this book on this app. This one is good, reminding me of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six that I think I read in 2007 and loved.
