I wonder if Ida Mae planned on telling Lily as well as Walt. I think he'd be accepting of her, he accepted her thinking she was white, and they became friends. I'd lik a sequel.

MacIntyre is definetly interesting; Grandy must have told him about her. I am surprised with Jenkins, but then again, he did grade her...

I keep thinking of the man on the trolley. He changed from calling her "Ma'am" to "baby girl" after seeing her race. i find it amazing that color meant so much that people's tone towards Ida Mae changed.

It's a good thing that Patsy admitted her taent. She opened doors for herself, and even got the attention of Douglass! By doing one small act, she opened doors for Luke, Ruth, Nancy and many others.

Its so sad that no one knows Patsy's ability. They call her dunce, and treat her like a fool, yet, she has an ability that NONE of them had. Patsy, however, stayed true to herself, and didn't give up, I admire her for that.

I have began this book, and abandoned it. Now, I'm reading it again. I am simply amazed that one person's doubt led to Patsy learning to read. They thought she wasn't capable, and joked of it. All along, she read newspapers.

I've read this book MANY times, but every time, I find myself amazed at the doubt of these people. Yeshua was RIGHT THERE, yet, they didn't believe. You would think that the people would see the wonder in the chance that no matter what stood in Yeshua's way, he lived.

I wish the book continued, explaining what happened with Mr. Duufy. I suppose John Grisham wanted the reader to assume based on Judge Gantry's calling of a mistrial and the evidence. I would expect more drama from Omar Cheepe and other people in the Duffy party.

In Theo's situation, I would tell on the cousin. I also understand his frustration, being torn between a rock and a hard place. In the point of view of the judge, I would try to get asylum for the immigrant. His evidence pretty much proved Mr. Duffy guilty, but his citizenship status made him invisible.

GO ROBERTO! I really wish they'd stop being so obsessed with skin color. They don't like the whites, they don't like the Blacks. Is there some perfect shade of brown that is considered acceptable?! Tia Catalina is pathetic, she cares more about Fernando, who is a rapist, than her own family, who is crumbling right between her eyes. It's a shame how love truly is blind in her case. She's too blind to see anything.....

Celie seems to have found everything she wanted. Now, all she needs is her sister and family. I am confused as to what happened with her father, but I know the man who hurt her wasn't him, and that the actual man was lynched. So sad.....

I like Shug. Sofia, too. However, I dislike Harpo. He seems to want to be like Mr.___ who isn't the best person to be.

The language of the characters is kind of irritating. I am digusted in what is happening to Celie. I wish I actually knew her husband's name and he wasn't referred to as Mr. _____

Wow, they blamed a PEOPLE for the problems of a COUNTRY. I guess it's easy to blame everyone. They could have spent time and money REBUILDING the country. Instead, they ripped it apart,killing people. My dad said they had to convince themselves that they weren't even humans. I see that now..

Re-reading this, I'm noticing so much more. Mom seems even WORSE than before.

In John's shoes, something deep within me would MAKE me kill Meyer, or at least shoot him. I guess hurting him would do nothing but cause more legal problems for him and his family. I truly feel bad for Cylin. Her social life was completely altered because of Raymond Meyer. I wish he had spent his life in jail, seeing all that a gun and a van did. I hope he read the memoir for himself, and saw the damage.

I really think it was Meyer. It's horrible that everyone KNOWS it's him, but has no way of proving it. I'd be really frustrated in John's shoes. He shouldn't kill him though, he'll be needed for the trial.

Kyle is really accepting of Rosemary. I like Ms. Wallace's style of therapy. She listens. I'm proud of Rosemary for losing alomst 50 pounds. She lost it for Kyle, but she gained peace through it that she didn't see before. She didn't see that Kyle loved her and that Mother was proud of her.

I think Mother will die after what Ms. Wallace said. Kyle would accept Rosemary no matter what she looked like, Rosemary just doesn't realize it.

Kyle is motivating Rosemary to lose weight. I understand why, she wants to be a girl he'd like. Kay-Kay is good as well, she is motivating Rosemary to be PERFECT. She doesn't realize it, but Rosemary wants to be like Kay-Kay, and her friendliness motivates her even more.

I think Amy and Ben are over, but Ricky and Amy seem to be closer. Maybe it's for the best, I'm sure it's good to be close to your child's father.

I want more.........I am kind of angry that nothing is going on. How's Adrian? Where is Adrian, Grace, Jack and the others? I understand the current situation at home with the divorce and Amy, but I want something more!

Everything going on with Ashley makes me pity her. I would be angry at Amy for not telling her. I would want my sister to trust me with something as life-changing an dimportant as pregnancy.

I'm surprised she didn't run away. I think I would've. Wam-pak is more and more mysterious. Why is he loving to Susanna, after he killed her family?

I wish there were more details about Clay. It may seem odd enough, but I'd like to know what he looked like, and what he does (besides rape) to Amari that's so bad. I think he has a genuine affection for her, and it's hidden beneath his wickedness. I want a 2nd book!

Miguel is obviously a good friend for Esperanza, but her pride is ruining it. I understand that it's difficult to adjust, but she could be a LITTLE bit accepting of her current status, and see that she's no longer la reina, but la campesina. I hope Tio Luis drowns in his tears when he sees that they escaped, he is so bad, he's family, and should be respectful in their time of need, not a self-centered brat!

It's crazy how Ishmael lost his humanity. He no longer said "this is a human being like me." He said, "This is a rebel, like the ones who burned my family." I am so surprised to see him addicted to murder and drugs, a horrible combination, and he's only a teenager.
