This so far gives me massive stepford wives feelings. Everything's TOO perfect, yet also slightly wrong.

I can't wait for Lisbeth and Mikael to finally meet; that's when things really start to get good!

The first story was fairly good in my opinion. Not too creepy or over the top but just unsettling enough that it makes you itch a little. Because we've all had something a little weird happen in our lives, but probably not more than once like Craig here. It does beg the question though: what would you do, in that situation?

While it took me a bit to get into it, (mostly because my brain took too long to chill out about personal deity interactions) I have been hooked by our main characters, and am rooting wholeheartedly for them now. I am both excited and incredibly anxious to figure out what the second half of this book brings.

I need someone to buddy read this with so I can send them my rolling commentary on things. I say some pretty entertaining stuff tbh. XD

I'm only about 11 pages into this and I'm not sure if I can handle this. We haven't even gotten to meeting her soulmates yet but between the writing style and something about the way Vanessa is nearly falling all over herself about the gods has me rankled. Perhaps it's because as someone who works with deities, I'm giggling at the overdoneness? Yes, give them respect and politeness, but ooof this is a little cringey.

Oh, child. You're doomed now.

Dent's descent into Two-Face is always interesting, and I like seeing Harleen's reaction to it, but there's something I'm more concerned with. I wanna know which Boy Wonder we have under the mask, but I don't think we ever find out, since this is not a Batman story. Based entirely on the quintessential red and green outfit, I think it's our boy, Dick Grayson... Although he looks more adult than teenager.

First comic down, and we've just started talking to the Joker. The setup and backstory was interesting, and Dent not yet being Two-Face certainly helps create a timeline of sorts. I'm very intrigued to see how the story we know is laid out for us in this telling.

1. The art style is GORGEOUS
2. I already love Harleen, but I always have so I'm biased.
3. This particular spread with her life decisions passing by is both beautiful and so evocative of Harleen's character without tons of exposition. Fantastically done.
4. Still don't like her and the Joker together (I never have), but I'm intrigued. We'll see what happens.

Well, fuck. I don't like this at all. I AM HAVING THE FEELINGS

Well... Our resident human is having a friend over. I wonder how the hell that's going to work out.

I don't feel like this is one of those stories that has like, a set beginning, middle, climax, and ending. It's more of a meandering tale, almost like Dolores Claiborne (another great King novel on my humble opinion) in a way.

This is a little bit of a weird story but I kind of like it anyway...

So far this is pretty weird. Anxious to see what tale Koontz is weaving.
